It is a member of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and is native to eastern Australia. Syzygium Winter Lights is a popular cultivar due to its stunning foliage, which provides year-round interest in the garden or landscape. It is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 6 meters (20 feet) tall and 4 meters (13 feet) wide, but it can also be pruned to maintain a smaller size. The leaves are ovate-shaped, glossy, and variegated, with shades of green, pink, and cream. The new growth is a bright pink or red, providing a striking contrast against the older foliage.
